Video below from Aviação TV and a little bit of info direct from the pilots about the events that happened in Cascais:
We landed in the Azores yesterday after a beautiful flight. Our stay in Cascais was wonderful. We had one event in the Naval Museum in front of the first plane to cross the South Atlantic 102 years ago (flown by a Rotarian). A movie about the flight has just been released, and the director and producer was there to show us a clip. He then spoke about how their flight and ours were so similar and inspired the world. Then, we had a second event in the Air Force museum, in front of our airplane. When we landed in Cascais, following customs, we flew the plane to a military base 4 minutes away. Once on base, they put our plane in the museum and promoted the plane to the public. Sunday night, they held a big event for us with the base commander and the officer in charge of the museum.
I look forward to an opportunity to return to Europe and experience the cultures and history.
